They also get paid millions in the process.

Let's be honest, being flown out to Australia year in, year out and enjoying the five-star lifestyle while looking down on 'celebrities' being tortured by the elements would probably be enough pay in itself for the average person. Never mind the fact that they also get the best seats in the house to witness grim 'bushtucker trials', that experience is priceless!

Take a look at this episode which aired the other day.

This year's I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here episode two aired November 14. Video credit: I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

Plus, if you haven't yet noticed the time difference, when I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here goes live on ITV in the UK at 9pm, it's only about 8am in Australia. Therefore, the presenters of the main show have finished their work for the day at around 12pm, I'm guessing.

For the past 14 years, every day in November, Ant and Dec leave the jungle, probably together, and get home to catch the afternoon rays before putting another 'shrimp on the barbie' when they get peckish. I can think of worse jobs, lads.

As well as the golden weather and the sadistic gains, the main perk that comes from working on the slightly average parade of c-listers is when the Geordie duo receive their hefty pay check (again, probably together).

The estimated current net worth of the artists formerly known as PJ and Duncan has been revealed and it might indicate why the duo have become so attached to their roles on the show.

From Byker Grove to arguably the most-loved TV personalities today, the double act now has an estimated net worth of £62million.

'What could I spend with £62million?' I hear you ask?

Well...

  • About 45 brand-new Bugatti Veyrons with about half a million left over.
  • Beyoncé and Jay-Z's huge mansion with 20 bathrooms in LA.
  • 62 million items from a pound shop...
  • First-class tickets to Down Under to make even more money with your best mate?

Since 2002, filming pampered celebrities being thrown into the insect-infested jungle became a yearly treat for many viewers. Yes, it may have diluted the term 'celebrity', but if anything, it has excelled in finding innovative and creative ways to make the individuals suffer for the price of their status. Making them eat camel penis and fish eyes is a personal highlight when it comes to the trials.

Who would have thought that Ant and Dec, the two god-awful actors from Byker Grove, would end up being one of the most successful double acts on television? That's showbiz for you.
