WARNING: AVENGERS ENDGAME SPOILERS AHEAD...WELL, SORT OF.
So, Avengers: Endgame has finally arrived. It came out today in the UK, but it came out yesterday in Australia. If you're in the United States, you've got to wait until tomorrow before you will get to see the culmination of eleven years of Marvel Cinematic Universe.
As with any major cinematic event such as this one, there's a lot to discuss. Obviously we're not going to go too far into the major plot points and themes here, there's simply too much to discuss.
However, when it comes to the MCU, people are just as happy to talk about literally anything, and I mean anything.
For example, there has been quite a lot of talk on Reddit about the fact that - despite having long hair in other movies - Captain Marvel, played by Brie Larson, has short hair in Endgame.
I told you. ANYTHING.
Of course, the folk who create the Marvel Cinematic Universe are always diligent and wouldn't be have been as successful as they have been if they made simple continuity errors and slip ups.
Luckily, nothing ever happens by accident.
Some people were initially a bit taken aback by Captain Marvel's new do. After the first film, one person posted on Reddit to say: "Anyone else sad that Captain Marvel has long hair?
"She looked bad ass with her short hair in the comics and now she kinda looks like the stereotypical female hero with long wavy hair."
Well, that person has now had their prayers answered. In homage to the comic book fans out there who - let's face it - will probably just find something else to whinge about, Captain Marvel has short hair.
Well, after a bit anyway.
She actually does start the film with the 'do that she was rocking in Captain Marvel, but then afterwards in the 'Five Years Later' portion of the film, she's spotted looking a lot more in line with the comic books.
The Marvel Mohawk is back.
That should please a few hardy souls out there who are wanting the movies to fall in line with the comic book arcs.
Lord knows, they've been pestering Brie Larson about it. She recently told IGN: "I feel like this is a big conversation and every day I have people yelling at me on Twitter like you better have long hair, or you better have a Mohawk, or you better wear the helmet, or you better not wear the helmet, so someone's going to be mad."
You're not wrong there.
Of course, if you want to see all the haircuts of your favourite Marvel Cinematic Universe characters in action, you now can. Get down to the cinema and see Avengers: Endgame.
That is, unless you live in the USA. If you live in the USA you've got to wait until tomorrow.
