Avengers: Endgame Press Conference Left Empty Chairs For The 'Fallen'

The press conference was certainly a lot smaller than Infinity War.

There's no denying the Avengers franchise has offered up a few emotional moments which get the tears flowing.

Top of that list is no doubt Thanos' snap, which wiped out half the universe, including some of our favourite superheroes.

As excitement ramps up for Endgame, journalists were treated to a press conference with the cast and it was a hell of a lot emptier than previous media tours.

Reporters crowded into a room with a large curtain hiding who was on stage. After some introductory words from Jon Favreau (Iron Man), the curtain dropped and we saw our remaining Avengers, but there were a few chairs left spare for their fallen brothers and sisters.

It was a nice touch to recognise that the franchise has become a tad bit smaller since Infinity War. But instead of just bringing enough chairs for the actors, the empty ones help us remember those lost in the snap.

Like we needed a reminder.

Those who were present on the stage included the directors, the Russo Brothers, Chris Evans, Karen Gillan, Chris Hemsworth, Don Cheadle, Scarlett Johansson, Danai Gurira, Paul Rudd, Jeremy Renner, Kevin Fiege, Robert Downey Jr., and Brie Larson.

Sadly (but also thankfully), there were no spoilers from the press conference. You can imagine the Marvel team were in the wings praying and hoping they wouldn't have to go into damage control.

The stars recently came together at Disneyland to donate a whopping $5m (£3.8m) to children's hospital charities.

The ceremony marked the launch of the Avengers Universe Unites charity, which aims to inspire and help children with serious illnesses, according to the Disney officials.

In order to add a touch of celebrity to the launch, Avengers stars Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson and Robert Downey Jr. assembled at the park in Anaheim for the announcement.

Disney's CEO Bob Iger said: "The superheroes in Avengers personify traits like courage, perseverance, bravery and hope - the same traits countless kids and their families in children's hospitals exhibit every day.

"We are grateful to have the Avengers cast take time out of their day to be a part of this effort to lift spirits and bring comfort to children during a difficult time."

The huge donation was given to non-profit organisations that help kids with severe illnesses around the world. The Walt Disney Company has also teamed up with Funko, Hasbro, Amazon and Lego to provide a whole load of toys to sick kids at hundreds of hospitals all across the USA.
