Superhero flick Avengers: Endgame is on its way to breaking all box office records set before it.

Since the Marvel sequel hit cinemas across the world last week, it has raked in an impressive $643.7m, globally, and is set to smash the $1.1bn record, making it the most successful opening for a film, ever.

And this total doesn't even take into consideration the $82.4m it is expected to make in China, today.

It has already claimed the record for the most successful opening day, taking $156.7m at the US box office - surpassing the previous record set by Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which took in a comparatively paltry $119m.

But it was always going to do well, right?

Earlier this year, predictors at Exhibitor Relations said they expected it would make an astonishing $282 million (£212m) on its opening weekend in the United States. Looks pretty conservative now, doesn't it?

Their only concern was that the three-hour running time could have a negative impact on ticket sales, but it appears that' not come to fruition, with fans desperate to be among the first to see it.

And there's a good reason. Endgame is the culmination of 11 years of Marvel Cinematic Universe and it's bloody brilliant, with fans calling it the 'best film ever'.

But it seems the excitement was a bit too much for some, after one woman in Ningbo, China, had to be hospitalised because she was crying uncontrollably.

Apparently - and no spoilers here, don't worry - the young woman, who is reportedly called Xiaoli was in hysterics by the dramatic conclusion of the film.

So distraught was she that she began to hyperventilate and had difficulty breathing. According to The Shanghaiist, she had numb hands and feet and couldn't even stretch out her fingers properly.

Now, this is definitely at the more extreme end of the scale. However, some Marvel nuts have gone to extreme lengths to make sure their experience isn't ruined, by anyone, not even their significant other.

Cyrille Sokpor, from London, sent his girlfriend a 'stern letter' with a list of dos and don'ts for their trip to the cinema.

The film has received rave reviews since it hit cinemas.

Kamilla Rose shared a picture of the instructions to her Twitter page, with the caption: "My boyfriend sent me a very sternly worded note about our cinema trip to see #AvengersEndgame tomorrow. Mad because I thought it was just date night."

And he wasn't messing about.

The letter reads: "We will not be queuing to buy popcorn, please make prior arrangements.

"You are not permitted to consume any food during the film including end credits - you may quietly drink water."

He went on: "I will not be moving to allow you to pass for a toilet break - find an alternative route.

"You will not communicate with me during the trailers or the duration of the film (inc end credits)."

Fair enough. People who talk in the cinema are the very worst.
