*This post is dark and full of potential spoilers.*

Recently we wrote about the leaked document that shed light on some of the new characters we would see in Season 7 of Game of Thrones.

For male role parts, they needed a warrior aged 35-45, but it's not this chap, as well as a young lord, and he's definitely not that either.

It's a stalwart of the British acting scene who's been included in the acting credits for Season 7. None other than Jim Broadbent.

Entertainment Weekly has reported that Broadbent will be playing a 'significant' part in the show. The actor is best known for roles in Harry Potter, Hot Fuzz, Brazil, Moulin Rouge, Gangs of New York and Bridget Jones's Diary among many others. This begs the question - what will he be doing?

Another new High Sparrow to terrorise King's Landing with his sagacity? An old army general who knows his shit? It's unlikely he's going to be great at fighting at his age (unless he's a Faceless Man), and if his legendary status in battle is as well known as Barristan Selmy we would have heard of him, so it's likely he may be giving counsel in some way. Perhaps he's the replacement for Grand Maester Pycelle, who last showed us that it takes about five kids to take him down before succumbing?

Broadbent is not the first actor to have shifted from Harry Potter to GoT. He played Professor Horace Slughorn in the film series. Other actors to appear in both are David Bradley (Filch/Walder Frey), Ciarán Hinds (Aberfoth Dumbledore/Mance Rayder), Natalie Tena (Tonks/Osha), Julian Glover (Aragog/the aforementioned Grand Maester Pyecelle), Nicholas Blane (Bob/the Spice King), among others. And what do all these actors have in common in GoT? They're all dead.

He's also not the first actor from Hot Fuzz to shift to Game of Thrones. Michael, in Hot Fuzz, is played by Rory McCann, none other than The Hound in the HBO epic. YARP!!

I'll get this out of the way now as it appears I'm the only person in the world who seems to want this to happen. I hope Broadbent's part of team #Littlefinger and helps him win the Iron Throne, with everyone else killing each other because of Aidan Gillen's sneaky tactics.

Filming for Season 7 starts soon and will premiere next summer. And I, for one, cannot wait!
