There's a huge amount of excitement in the air for Breaking Bad fans, after the creator Vince Gilligan confirmed there would a movie set in the show's universe set to start filming later this month - although the news hasn't set the world alight for absolutely everyone.

But despite all the mixed emotions flying around, there's one question we're all dying to know the answer to - is Bryan Cranston going to appear in the film as the show's central character Walter White?

Hold on to your hats, this is pretty epic news - in an interview on The Dan Patrick Show, Bryan not only confirmed there would genuinely be a film on the way, but also - although he hadn't yet seen a script - he has spoken to Vince about the movie.

In the interview, Bryan said: "There appears to be a movie version of Breaking Bad, but I have honestly not even read the script.

"There is a question [of] whether we'd even see Walter White in the movie. I would absolutely do it [play Walter again] - it's Vince Gilligan and he's a genius."

He added that he'd like to see some some closure for some of the storylines that remained unresolved by the show's conclusion.

He said: "It's a great story and there's a lot of people who felt that they wanted to see some kind of completion to some of these storylines that were left open.

"This idea, from what I'm told, gets into those - at least a couple of the characters who were not completed as far as their journey."

There's not much information on when the film will be set - so whether it will take the story up as a sequel, or simply a Breaking Bad universe spin-off, like Netflix hit Better Call Saul, is still up in the air.

Bryan added: "I'm excited about it because it's Breaking Bad and it was the greatest professional period of my life and I can't wait to see all those people again."

Wait, did he just confirm he is involved?

Even with a sparse amount of confirmed information, rumours of the upcoming production have been floating around for a while. The Albuquerque Journal reported the movie was set to start filming in the city - which has become a huge draw for tourists thanks to the success of the show - in mid-November through to early February 2019.

The Journal reported the film has a working title of 'Greenbriar' and they say it 'tracks the escape of a kidnapped man and his quest for freedom'.
