Prepare to be sick.

A bit of dust never hurt anyone. A few sweet wrappers down the side of the sofa, or an old sock under the bed are all to be expected.

However, tonight's episode of Call The Cleaners (ITV 20:30 BST) sees Yvonne and Angela, two professional extreme cleaners, tackle the worst mess of their 19-year career.

The north London one-bedroom flat had barely been cleaned by the widow occupant in the nine years since her husband's death.

What greeted the pair of super cleaners was plain and simple vile.

Having lived alone for a long period of time, with just her dog for company, the 76-year-old woman had let things get a little out of hand. Mould, grime, and litter had built up to unimaginable amounts.

A leaking toilet had allowed water to seep throughout the flat. This was mixed with dog faeces while mould had crept over every surface.

The living room was filled with out-of-date food and rotting rubbish, with a broken light creating a shadow of darkness all over the place.

Cleaner Yvonne states: "Nineteen years we've been doing this, and I think this is the worst... I've never seen anything like it."

However, true to their business proposition the girls set to work and turn the place around.

Their first point of redemption was the bedroom. Abandoned, the pair found suits belonging to the woman's late husband.

The room was spider-infested and falling apart, with a sickening layer of soil-like powder over the floor.

It was then to the lounge, where the occupier slept on a mouldy, damp sofa. This was followed by the bathroom where mud and dog faeces had mixed together.

After four days of intensive cleaning, four skips, and probably some psychiatric treatment, the flat was transformed.

The elderly lady finally had a bed she could sleep in and the smell was gone.

Angela, as she closed the door to leave, stated: "I'll never forget that job."
