A young boy fighting cancer has had his dream come true after he received a message from Captain America... who invited him to attend the Avengers: Endgame premiere. Check out the magical moment in the clip below:

Five-year-old Felipe Andres Muyshondt - known as Pipe - was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2015 and has undergone several operations, the latest of which was in February this year.

But his family, who live in El Salvador, say doctors have discovered a new tumour, and have set up a number of campaigns to help pay for the expensive treatment.

Felipe's heartbreaking story was spotted by Captain America himself, Chris Evans, 37, who sent the little lad a video message last week.

In the footage Evans told him: "I just read all about you and I just had to let you know that I think you are so strong and so brave, and I am so impressed. You could definitely, definitely fight with us on the Avengers."

He then sent Pipe another message, inviting him and his family to the Los Angeles premiere of the superhero blockbuster.

The courageous young boy attended the glitzy event at the Los Angeles Convention Center and got to meet some of the Avengers crew, including Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk) and Paul Rudd (Ant-Man).

Writing on social media after the premiere, Pipe's dad Gerardo Muyshondt thanked the actor for making his son's wish come true.

He wrote: "Thanks to Chris Evans and all the support we received from you all.

"Pipe got to meet other superheroes at the world premiere of Endgame. He was so happy, and his smile was as brilliant as always. Thank you from my heart."

This heartwarming story comes just hours before the release of the final instalment in this arch of the Avengers saga, drawing the curtain on a story that began more than a decade ago.

And by the sounds of it, Endgame more than lives up to the hype that has surrounded it basically since the the credits started rolling on Infinity War.

The jammy journos who've already managed to see the long-awaited blockbuster, have been falling over themselves with praise for the movie.

Erik Davis, managing editor at Fandango, took to Twitter to share his (spoiler-free) opinion, writing: "Avengers: Endgame is a masterful epic - a true culmination of 22 films that not only concludes the story, but expands upon it.

"You'll learn more about the other movies while this one unfolds. If Infinity War is the brawn, Endgame is the brains. And wow, what an ending!

"Do not go in expecting Infinity War part two. The two films are so different, yet complement each other in all the best ways. In terms of which MCU movie to watch beforehand... honestly, all of them. What an experience - what an accomplishment.

"Not going to spoil anything at all, but I will say I laughed, I cried, I cried, I cheered, I laughed, I cried again and then the entire audience gave it a massive standing ovation. And then I cried again. Be ready, kids. Be. Ready."

Way to go, Pipe. Sometimes, movies are much more important than what you see on the screen.
