If you're after something to warm the cockles of your heart, then you might be surprised to hear that Steve-O of Jackass fame (or infamy) might well be the best person to provide it. Just watch this and you'll see why.
The behind-the-scenes clip details how Steve-O - in Peru with a bunch of likeminded adventurers for new YouTube series Ultimate Expedition - searches the streets of what we presume is Lima to find a street dog companion for an impending mountain climbing adventure.
He buys two huge bags of dog food and wanders the streets, crew in tow, to find one, but he doesn't have much luck. At first. Presumably because they've been mistreated by humans, none of them seem to trust him.
But just as he's losing hope, Steve-O, whose real name is Stephen Gilchrist Glover, comes across Wendy. Which is presumably the name he gave her. And the bond between them is the most beautiful thing we think we've ever seen and it makes our little hearts swell.
Steve-O gives Wendy a bath and sleeps with her in a tent and it's pretty clear that he falls pretty hard for her. He takes her to the vet and gets her de-fleaed, de-wormed and vaccinated, turning her from lonely street dog into, well, maybe the luckiest dog in the world.
Because whatever Steve-O's reputation, and whatever you might think of him, this is such a life-affirming clip that - if you have a heart - should make you beam with happiness. That's what we're doing right now. We can't stop watching it!
And it's not the first time Steve-O has shown himself to be a really nice guy. Just the other day it was reported how, having been through his own battles with alcohol and drugs addiction, he was offering advice to Jackass co-star Bam Magera after he entered a rehab facility in California.
"Rehab is like a gym," Steve-O told TMZ. "Just because you've got a gym membership doesn't mean you're going to get really fit. It just depends on what you do when you get there."
