Imagine finding out you were going to be the star of a Hollywood blockbuster. You'd plan, you'd practice, you'd tell all your mates and you'd be ridiculously excited.
Then imagine that one of your co-stars pulled off one of the best performances of all time. You'd be a bit gutted.
Christian Bale has said that Heath Ledger's posthumous Oscar-winning performance in The Dark Knight "ruined all his plans". Don't get angry though, it's totally understandable once you read what he said.

In a recent interview with Yahoo! Movies, Bale said: "I didn't quite manage what I hoped I would throughout the trilogy. Chris [Nolan] did, but my own sense of self is like, 'I didn't quite nail it.'
"I found, when I put on the suit, I just went, I'd just feel like a bloody idiot if I don't use this a means of, kind of, it's his true, monstrous self that he allows to come out in that moment.
He continued: "Heath turned up, and just kind of completely ruined all my plans.
"Because I went, 'He's so much more interesting than me and what I'm doing.'".
Too right. Ledger was incredible in that role.
