Cillian Murphy has poured petrol on the flames that are the rumours of a Peaky Blinders movie in an interview with Deadline.

The man who so brilliantly plays Tommy Shelby in the hugely popular BBC drama series revealed the idea of a Peaky Blinders movie was 'sexy'.

No really, that was his choice of word.

In a cast interview with Deadline (which is superb and extremely insightful if you want to give it a read). Murphy said:

"I'm sort of ambivalent about it. I'm sort of like, 'Eh, yeah, I don't know. I'm not sure.

"I love the idea sort of theoretically, but it has to come at the right time, you know? You can't alienate the beautiful democratic thing of television where everyone just watches it.

"Cinema is trickier because you gotta pay your $10, you gotta leave the kids at home. You've got to do all of that, so it's different and also you have to compress the story into probably just an event rather than the whole arc that we've normally been doing.

"It's kind of a sexy idea, but I'll reserve judgement until the idea is presented to me."

So... that's a yes Cillian?

Regardless of if it's a yes or no, the BBC have ordered two more series of the gangster drama so we wouldn't be getting it until around 2018 anyway.

I can wait. Can you wait? I can't really wait if I'm honest. I just want Peaky Blinders back on the tele.
