Contestant Gives Possibly The Worst Ever Answer On 'The Chase'

Good lord.

None of us can claim that we haven't found ourselves a bit too wrapped up in an episode of The Chase. At 6pm while eating your tea, it's okay to scream at the TV because Linda from Essex thinks Lawrence Dallaglio is a 17th century painter. It's so easy to get involved.

However, the pressure in the studio, which usually makes people fuck up, obviously isn't replicated in our homes, where we sit on a sofa in our jogging bottoms with Bolognese sauce down our t-shirts.

That's probably what this bloke is going to blame his mishap on, anyway.

David, from Andover, a self-confessed 'average quizzer', had made his way to the Final Chase after bringing back £2,000 from his head-to-head against the chaser.

Alongside his team-mate, Lou, they got a modest 16 correct answers when trying to prevent chaser Anne Hegerty from catching them. But it might have been 17 had David not decided to create a contender for the most dad moment on TV ever.

Our Dave thought that LL Cool J, a rapper born in 1968 and known for songs like 'Mama Said Knock You Out', had a hit called 'Stranger in Paradise' in 1950.

Bradley Walsh broke the news to David that the correct answer was Tony Bennett. This came to the complete bemusement of the contestant.

It probably doesn't rank as highly as the Fanny Chmelar incident, but it's still pretty ridiculous.

David is a father of four, so his kids presumably still have their head in their hands.
