Dave Bautista Wants A Marvel Movie About Drax, Korg, And Luis

The Guardians of the Galaxy actor echoes fans who want to see Drax in a standalone film with the MCU's most eccentric supporting characters.

Marvel fans, you're not alone in your love of Taiki Waititi's Korg and Michael Pena's Luis. Apparently even Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista is very fond of them too - he wants his character Drax to kick it with the two characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) very soon.

The actor expressed his interest in having Drax hang out with Korg and Luis after commenting on a retweet from a fan commenting on a meme on Twitter.

The meme, which has been widely circulated among fans of the MCU, shows a picture of the three characters and asks: "Can I get a scene in a Marvel movie where these three just sit and have a conversation?"

Thankfully, the fan in question has the good sense to show that when it comes to these three, a scene is not nearly enough - Luis, Korg, and Drax deserve a whole damn movie and Bautista is more than down for it.

Referencing Waititi and Pena (and their respective eccentric characters, no doubt), Bautista tweeted: "Since I love these dudes ... Count me in!"

However, there's another Guardians character missing from this mighty MCU supporting character equation: Mantis wants in on the fun, too.

Pom Klementieff, who portrays the antennae-boasting superhero, tweeted in response to Bautista: "I wanna be in it too!".

Which absolutely settles it. This needs to happen. All four characters have provided some of the funniest and most unexpectedly memorable moments in the MCU thus far.

And just imagine the batshit, rambling banter that could unravel between Korg and Drax... Or the awkward silences that could hang between Luis and Mantis following a misunderstanding.

Not to mention the odd misadventures that all four could get themselves into without the guidance of the lead characters of their stories.

Obviously, all we can do at this stage is hope. Marvel has a whole plan for phase 4 of the MCU with films already scheduled up until 2022, so we can't imagine fan service such as this would be top of the company's priorities. Even if we think it should be.

Still, fans at least have the third instalment of the Guardians series to look forward to in the meantime, which will reunite Drax and Klementieff once again.

After sharing some fun screen time with the Guardians in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, Chris Hemsworth's Thor is also expected to officially join the ragtag crew. So maybe, just maybe, he'll manage to find a way to bring Korg along with him too...
