Dec Made A Joke About His Missing Mate On Britain's Got Talent Last Night

Declan Donnelly, you are an absolute legend.

The way he's coped on screen for the last few months, since his presenting partner and best mate Ant McPartlin was arrested for drink-driving, has been amazing to watch - particularly when he managed to find the funny side of the whole affair during last night's Britain's Got Talent:

No one likes change, but this massive spanner in the works for Ant and Dec has been handled really well so far.

On last night's live semi-final of BGT, Dec made a joke about his pal while introducing a jazz double act.

He stood next to the judges to introduce the duo of Dennis DeMillie and Marvin Muoneke and made a subtle but brilliant joke about his own broken duo.

"First up tonight we start with two men, who are absolutely inseperable," said Donnelly. "They're a double act everyone loved at the auditions and now they're back together for semi-final week.

"Must be nice."

His comments received a proper chuckle from David Walliams and Dec himself was trying not to laugh too obviously. No one likes a man who laughs at his own gags, even when you're taking the piss out of yourself.

Later in the show, while Walliams was throwing confetti at him, he said: "Stop it! I'll smash your face in," before bending Walliams over the desk to spank him.

Twitter has been full of praise for the Geordie presenter, with many calling for him to go solo forever more.

Twitter user FlounderingFool wrote: "Love how much naughtier Dec is on his own. It's like he's been left without adult supervision and all hell is breaking loose."

Another Tweet from user Justnaomiyeh said: "Dec my man, you're killing me."

He has been hosting the show on his own since McPartlin was caught behind the wheel, two times over the legal driving limit.

Ant was slapped with an £86k fine and banned from driving for 20 months - rightly so, really.

He was involved in a collision with two other vehicles while driving his Mini in Richmond in south-west London. It's reportedly the biggest ever drink-driving fine.

The 42-year-old has publicly apologised for his actions, but it's not yet known when he'll be reunited with his co-host on our screens.

He'll be welcomed back by viewers, we're sure - but for now, Dec's doing a sterling job on his own.
