Game of Thrones isn't even on anymore and we're still reporting on it on a daily basis. They're clever, these TV types.
Anyway, just three days ago we reported that HBO's new programming chief, Casey Bloys, had been in talks with the show's creators, David Benioff and D.B.Weiss, regarding the Game of Thrones end date. And it didn't look good. In fact, it looked as though season eight would be the last one.

He revealed at the Television Critics Association press tour in Beverly Hills: "Yes, I think they [Benioff and Weiss] have a very specific plan about the number of seasons they want to do.
"If I could get them to do more, I would take 10 seasons, but we want to take their lead with what they can do and what the best version of the show is."
HOWEVER, it turns out that he didn't actually mean what it sounded like.

An HBO spokesperson spoke to Buzzfeed and said: "Casey did confirm season eight, but didn't really say for sure that's the end."
Oh... okay. Can someone please just tell us? All this back and forth is actually quite irritating.
So there you have it. It may or may not end after season eight. Great.
