Eagle-Eyed 'Friends' Fan Spots Extra Chewing On Coffee

Eagle-Eyed 'Friends' Fan Spots Extra Chewing On Coffee

You read that right... CHEWING on coffee.

I feel sorry for TV show extras. And not because of Ricky Gervais' Extras, I still haven't actually got round to watching that even though it's been on my list for ages.

What I mean is, they've got to pretend to do stuff all day. They're not given lines and they're probably not given much direction. You're just told to exist in the background while something more important happens wherever the camera is pointing.

It's like if you speak another language and someone asks you to say something in that language. Then suddenly you forget what words are and just sit there stuttering like Simone Zaza trying to take a penalty.

If I was an extra and the camera started rolling, I'd have no fucking idea what to do.

Take for example the people who had to sit in the Coffee House year after year after year in Friends. There's only so much an extra can do in a coffee shop.

And if it was me, I'd probably sit there stunned silent just staring at Jennifer Anniston because she is the love of my life, I think.

Now, considering there were 236 episodes, there aren't too many instances of a Friends extra fuck up. Until now.

Well, it's not really a fuck up, it's more of a what-the-fuck-is-she-doing sort of moment.

Check it out for yourself...

If you didn't notice, she sipped her coffee then started chewing.

Now, the simple explanation is that she was eating something and simply still had to chew with the added wetness of the coffee to help.

But watch it again and she hasn't put anything in her mouth beforehand. Of course, it might have happened before the camera started rolling but even so, still a bit weird.

Anyway, I was told I had to write this and I've blabbed on enough about one extra in one episode of one of the best-loved sitcoms in television history so I'll leave you to your evenings now.

But still, what is she up to?
