Ed Sheeran Has Finally Spoken About The Sword Incident

Ed Sheeran Has Finally Spoken About The Sword Incident

Blame James Blunt.

If you can, cast your mind's back to The Most British Thing To Ever... Remember it? When Princess Beatrice was waving a ceremonial sword around, pretending to knight James Blunt and she accidentally whacked Ed Sheeran... Remember that?

Although we all had a bit of a laugh about it, it was reported that poor Ed had to take a trip to A&E and it definitely ruined a few selfies for the singer.

He's remained tight-lipped about the whole thing, since the story broke, probably scared he'll get beheaded if he slags off the royal family.

Anyway, when he appeared on The Graham Norton Show on Friday, the host couldn't resist doing a bit of digging to find out what happened:

He's still got a scar, so it must have been a fair old whack.

What a gent? Rather than blame a princess, Ed decides to blame James Blunt, saying, "It was James Blunt. It was James Blunt trying to get his pop career back."

Blunt is back

And if merely reading his name has got you all excited, then you will be pleased to learn that depressing crooner and professional banter-merchant James Blunt has got a new album this year - 'The Afterlove', which is out 24 March.

Announcing the exciting news via his (brilliant) Twitter account earlier today, he posted a video of himself while lying in a bath, with the caption "I've got something huge to show you," which is just classic Blunt.

James famously promised to top the shit storm that was 2016 this year by releasing his new album in 2017.

Last year James said that he and Ed had been writing some songs together, as well as getting involved in knife fights.

Oh, and let's never forget that he once prevented World War III.
