What do you reckon to this?

If you're not an Ed Sheeran fan then 2017 must be really hard for you. After releasing his new album and somehow having 16 songs in current top 20, the ginger singer is everyfuckingwhere.

If he's not topping the charts, he's handing out advice on hangover cures. As we said, he is EVERYWHERE.

And, now, he's set to pop up in one of the most highly-anticipated shows of the year.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Ed is going to be making a cameo appearance in Games of Thrones.

Showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss shared the news at the South By Southwest film festival this weekend.

Apparently, Maisie Williams is a huge fan of the 'Shape of You' songster.

Benioff said: "For years we were trying to get Ed Sheeran on the show to surprise Maisie and this year we finally did it."

It's not the first time Games of Thrones has had guest appearances from musicians. In the past, Will Champion from Coldplay and Snow Patrol's Gary Lightbody have both starred.

Weiss added: "A lot of [music artists] say they would they would like to [be on the show], and then we tell them [shooting a scene] is so boring.

"'You're gonna hate this - you're going to be sitting around three days for 12 hours a day.'"

As yet there's little information on what role Ed will be playing, as the show's creators are keeping their cards very close to this chest over season seven.

However, it was (finally) announced last week that the show returns on 16 July.
