Eddie Murphy is back.
In a way this is irrelevant, because nothing he does will top 'Party All The Time' or Beverly Hills Cop I & II.
However, the thought of Murphy being in a film that isn't utter tripe is an enticing one. I honestly can't remember the last time he was in a film worth watching. It was probably Shrek 2, actually.
He will now be returning as the title role in Mr. Church.
It's extremely well-styled and, thankfully, it looks like it has cast Murphy in a role that showcases his effortless charm that is more often than not completely ignored and is instead replaced with total stupidity.
Also, he wears a hat well. Anyone who looks natural in a hat is always cool.
Set in 1960s Los Angeles, the movie follows Mr. Church, a hired cook who has to take care of a young girl's mother who is fighting cancer. It follows the relationship between Murphy and the girl (Britt Robertson) and all the daily battles they must get through together.
The Cinelou Films movie actually made its debut at the Tribeca Film Festival back in April but will be released in theatres in September.
According to Uproxx, it will eventually be available to stream via Amazon Prime Instant Video.
