As we eagerly await the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones, actress Emilia Clarke just got a tattoo in homage to her role as Mother of Dragons.

Literally transforming herself into the girl with the dragon tattoo, the Daenerys Targaryen actress posted a snap of the inking that features 'her babies' Drogon, Rhaegal and Viserion on her right wrist.

"MOD 4 LYFE!!!!" she wrote. "Made sure this mamma ain't NEVER forgetting her babies...."

She then joked that she only briefly passed out in the chair when getting the ink done at Dr Woo's famous tattoo studio in Los Angeles.

According to The Metro, the actress has been planning on the tattoo as a kind of 'peace out' to the show since 2016 and now she has, her fans are buzzing. The Instagram post has already racked up more than 1.6 million likes - the power of the Mother is strong.

The inking comes hot on the heels of the news that Emilia suffered a 'legit' existential crisis after the filming for Game of Thrones season eight came to an end in July of this year.

Having been there for the show's inception in 2011, the actress said she's going to find it hard to let go of the character she's come to know and love so well.

Speaking to E! News, she revealed she's unsure what to do with her life now, adding: "Genuine! Existential crisis, like, legit, where you're like, 'What?'"

Co-star Nathalie Emmanuel shared a similar sentiment: "The week after we finished was a really weird week.

"I just felt kind of disjointed and a bit, like, 'Ohhh'. What does my life mean without Game of Thrones?"

It's going to be a huge blow for the cast and the show when its final season ends next year. As for Emilia, she's already dipped her toes in other projects and has proven her acting chops in a wide variety of roles.

We have no doubt she'll go on to enjoy a solid career beyond the realms of Westeros and at least now she's got the inking of her 'babies' to give her courage along the way.
