Fabergé Flower Worth '£1 Million' Found On 'Antiques Roadshow'

What?!

If you've ever watched Antiques Roadshow, then you'll know that at times it's really boring. God bless them, but if there isn't some kind of car chase, sex scene or gun fight then you've completely lost my attention.

Sadly, I can't imagine Fiona Bruce RKOing one of the little elderly ladies who has brought in her antique plate collection. Luckily, it seems that this year's show has been spiced up a little with an unbelievable find.

They reckon that they've found a Fabergé ornament that could be worth £1,000,000.

They were filming on Wednesday at the Black Country Living Museum in Dudley, West Midlands, when they were presented with the ornament.

Now, I'll be honest, looking at it, I can't imagine a world where someone would shell out a million quid for it. I would rather spend my money on a house, or a car, or BOTH. Also, a night out.

Look at it...

I'm very underwhelmed.

Anyway, the show's executive producer, Simon Shaw, reckons that the find is one of the programme's most valuable items in its history. Well... duh. The majority of their finds are worth about £25. Or am I thinking of Dickinson's Real Deal? All these shows smush into one.

Dan Bansal, a 50-year-old builder from Hagley, was there when the flower was being valued. He said that expert Geoffrey Munn was stunned by the quality of the ornament.

Mr Bansal told the Express & Star: "The expert said it's probably the second time he's ever done that type of valuation.

"I think he was reluctant to say £1 million and nervous to say it was worth that much."

A BBC spokesperson said the Fabergé piece was 'a really important find', but they're keeping the history and exact value of the item to themselves.

Simon said: "We've had one of the most significant jewellery finds in 40 years of Antiques Roadshow history - but we don't want to spoil the surprise."

Cheeky monkeys, they want us to watch it when it's screened in the autumn. To be fair, I probably will.

This isn't the first time an item worth over a million quid has appeared on the show.

According to the Express & Star, there was a model of Antony Gormley's Angel of the North that fetched a similar amount, plus an FA Cup which was presented between 1911 and 1992. The type of cup presented was replaced in 1992 by a new trophy of the same design.
