Fan Theory Fixes Plothole That Annoys Every Lord Of The Rings Fan

You've probably seen The Lord Of The Rings, probably multiple times too. If so you've no doubt debated the giant eagles theory at least once. If the over-sized birds could give the plucky hobbits a lift back from Mordor, why couldn't they have taken them there in the first place?
Well, they could have, in fact that was probably Gandalf's plan all along. There was a Reddit thread on this a while back but this Gizmodo video explores the theory in pretty painstaking detail.
This certainly explains the fabled 'Fly, you fools!' line, and the video debates the route the fellowship had embarked on.
