Fans Are Seriously Impressed With The Casting Choices For IT Chapter 2

“Not sure if casting older versions of child actors has ever seemed this pitch perfect."

The IT Chapter 2 trailer is finally here, and fans have been treated to the first look of what the Losers' Club look like as adults.

The new flick is set 27 years after the first movie and will catch up with the gang as adults, who have tried to put the horrific memories of their childhood - and evil clown Pennywise - behind them.

But of course, the demonic entity isn't going to let them get away with it that easily, is he?

The first glimpse has already got fans all excited about the sequel, which is due to land in September this year.

The young cast are dead ringers for the new adult cast.

And, while many horror-fans are eager to see Pennywise back doing what he does best, others have taken time to point out how spot-on the casting is for the grown-up versions of Bill and the rest of the Losers' Club.

The all-new adult cast sees James McAvoy as Bill, Jessica Chastain as Beverly, Bill Hader as Richie, Isaiah Mustafa as Mike, James Ransone as Eddie, Jay Ryan as Ben and Andy Bean as Stan.

As the first trailer dropped, fans were impressed with the 'great casting' of the adults, who really do look like grown-up versions of the child actors used in the 2017 movie.

One happy fan tweeted: "I am so excited to see Bill Hader as the adult Richie in the new IT. Like, him as the older Finn Wolfhard - this was perfectly cast."

While someone else asked: "Are these the same actors as kids and adults? Every one of them?"

Another added: "Not sure if casting older versions of child actors has ever seemed this pitch perfect." High praise, indeed.

A third said: "They did a good job casting the older characters they look a little identical, to be honest."

Oh, and in case you were worried, Bill Skarsgård will return as Pennywise and he's as creepy as ever if the new trailer is anything to go by.

The movie's official plot synopsis reads: "Twenty-seven years after the events of the summer of 1989, It (Bill Skarsgård) returns. The Losers' Club fulfil their promises and return to Derry to put an end to the evil being once and for all. Unbeknownst to them, It has returned, stronger and crueller than ever."

Well, sounds terrifying enough to me. I can't wait.

IT Chapter 2 will hit UK cinemas on 6 September 2019.
