Fans were in shock last night after the drunken 'Blue Smurf' on Peter Kay's Car Share turned out to be a Game of Thrones star.

Despite the fact that many people believed it was camera tricks and the Smurf was actually Peter Kay himself, it was, in fact, Conleth Hill. Or, as you may know him, eunuch Lord Varys.

Yes, that is him and, yes, he is a Laurence Olivier Award-winning actor. Turns out he's incredibly versatile.

Loads of people were confused...

You've got to admire the fact that he had everyone convinced that he was Peter Kay.

In the BBC series, Peter plays a guy called John. It's quite a simple concept, just a group of mates who work at the same supermarket who car share their commute to work.

However in this episode, they're off to a work party in fancy dress when the random Smurf (called Elsie) manages to nab a lift home.

I reckon he should win an award for that performance, too.
