Fans Think Avengers: Age of Ultron Could Reveal Endgame Storyline

Fans Think Avengers: Age of Ultron Could Reveal Endgame Storyline

Since the last Avengers movie fans of the series have been left wondering on the fate of their favourite superheroes.

But with two months still left to wait until the fourth and final film, Avengers: Endgame, hits our screen, some fans have been hard at work and think clues might lie in the saga's second instalment, Avengers: Age of Ultron.

And if they're correct it doesn't look good for two of the blockbuster's best-loved characters - Tony Stark (Iron Man) and Steve Rogers (Captain America).

The tense scene comes after Ultron has managed to battle the Avengers squad and escape.

Fans think it could be the end for Iron Man and Captain America.

A forlorn Stark is telling the rest of the crew how bad things really are and that basically he doesn't think they're going to be able to win this battle.

This is where is gets interesting, the billionaire tech whizz then goes on to describe the battle they had in the previous Avengers movie as the 'endgame' - remember, the one where loads of aliens came through a massive wormhole in the sky and invaded New York?

He says: "How were you guys planning on beating that?"

After a short pause Captain America replies: "Together."

Could this be the end for two of the franchise's biggest heroes.

An unconvinced Stark then says: "We'll lose."

To which the Captain says: "Then we'll do that together, too."

Does this mean the end? Nobody wants either of these two giants of the Marvel Universe to be killed off, but as far as fan theories go it's a pretty convincing one.

And in the trailer for the new film things don't look like they were going too well for Stark who we see floating around in space with no sign of a rescue.

One character we know for sure won't be returning after Endgame is Stark's partner, Virginia 'Pepper' Potts, as actor Gwyneth Paltrow announced she was leaving the part behind.

The 46-year-old first starred as Potts in 2008's Iron Man, and has gone on to crop up not only in the franchise's sequels, but also several Avengers films. There was also a cameo appearance in 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming.

However, in an interview with Variety, Paltrow has now said she will be leaving the Marvel Cinematic Universe this summer.

"I mean, I'm a bit old to be in a suit and all that at this point," she told the magazine.

"I feel very lucky that I did it, because I actually got talked into it. I was friends with ['Iron Man' director] Jon Favreau. It was such a wonderful experience making the first 'Iron Man' and then to watch how important it has become to fans."
