If you like your films dark AF, then do I have good news for you? My Friend Dahmer, about the infamous killer Jeffery Dahmer is out this autumn and it looks so good.

The film is based on the graphic novel by John Backderf, who went to school with Dahmer, and shows a different side to the man who would go on to kill 17 men and boys.

The movie's writer and director Marc Meyers told Inverse that the movie is not what people might be expecting.

It follows the real-life story of Dahmer's high-school days, including his 'obsession with bones', carrying out grisly experiments in his backyard lab, alcoholism and how he got a reputation for being a class-clown.

The killer is played by Ross Lynch, who looks a lot like a young Dahmer.

To add extra creepiness, some of the scenes were filmed at the actual Dahmer house, which Meyer managed to get access to while filming in Ohio.

Dahmer carried out his first killing just three weeks after graduation aged 18. He killed young men and boys and became infamous for mutilating the bodies of his victims, carrying out sickening acts of necrophilia and cannibalism. He would go on killing until he was apprehended in 1991.

He was diagnosed with a borderline personality disorder, schizotypal personality disorder and a psychotic disorder, but was found to be legally sane at his trial, where he was sentenced to life in prison. He was beaten to death by a fellow inmate named Christopher Scarver.

However, the film is set in the 1970s when Dahmer and his classmates were in the teens, and aims to tell the 'story before the story' according to Meyers, while exploring the nature versus nurture theme.

It's just had its first showing at the Tribeca film festival and already has a solid 8.3 on IMDB.

It's expected to be released in autumn this year.

As a sick bastard, I can't wait to see it.
