The trailer has been released for Finn Wolfhard's new horror film, The Turning, which is a modern take on Henry James' 1898 novella The Turn of the Screw.

Wolfhard, 16, takes on the role of an orphan called Miles who lives in a mansion under the care of newly employed Kate - played by Mackenzie Davis (Black Mirror) - with his sister Flora (Brooklynn Prince).

In Wolfhard's first major role since starring in Stranger Things and It, Miles is described as a 'special' child. Shortly afterwards he stamps on a fish, saying: "Nothing should have to suffer." Hand yer notice in, Kate.

It seems fans can't wait to watch Finn take on this new role, with one saying: "Dude I literally got chills this movie looks absolutely amazing i can't wait to see your acting along with Brooklynn's both of you are talented!"

Another wrote: "IT chapter 2, the goldfinch, the turning, the addams family and Carmen Sandiego!! wow 2019-2020 treating us (and YOU) WELL".

A third commented: "I'm so freaking proud of u. I know u did a great job portraing [portraying] miles, the trailer already convinced me. not gonna lie, its so scary tho. I'm still gonna watch and support it (and you)".

The Turning also features Mackenzie Davis.

The synopsis reads: "For more than 100 years, a deeply haunting tale has been passed down to terrify audiences.

"Next January, DreamWorks Pictures'The Turning takes us to a mysterious estate in the Maine countryside, where newly appointed nanny Kate is charged with the care of two disturbed orphans, Flora and Miles.

"Quickly though, she discovers that both the children and the house are harbouring dark secrets and things may not be as they appear."

Miles ends up smashing his nanny's head against a mirror.

NME reported that the script was written by Chad and Carey Hayes, the twin brothers whose screenwriting credits include House of Wax, The Conjuring and The Conjuring 2.
