Episode one of the sixth and final season of Power has landed on Netflix after a bit of an unexpected delay.

Fans were left not-so-patiently waiting around after the streaming platform revealed it would be available today - but at 8am there was no sign of it. By 10am, Power lovers were demanding that Netflix should get a move on.

Now, finally, it's up there and you can feast your eyes on the very first episode.

Netflix will be streaming a new episode every week.

As the show is also airing on the STARZ network in the US, it hasn't been released in its entirety and you'll have to wait until Monday for your next fix.

The final 15-episode season, dubbed 'The Final Betrayal', will be shown in two parts, with the first 10 episodes being shown between now and October and then the final five airing in January.

According to TheWrap, Power will be getting its very own aftershow for the first time, called Power Confidential, which will air immediately after each episode. However, it's not yet clear if this will be available in the UK.

Fans needn't been too downhearted about the show coming to an end, though, as a spin-off prequel is already heading into production.

Power Book II: Ghost, is in pre-production and will star R&B royalty Mary J Blige.

Speaking at the Television Critics Association's press tour in July, showrunner Courtney Kemp said: "We have alluded previously to various spin-offs, prequels, and other expansions of the Power universe.

"Today we are pleased to announce that we are in pre-production on the first of what we know will be a collection of series inspired by the dynamic world of Power.

"Power Book II: Ghost will continue the journey of some of Power's most controversial characters."

It's reported that there are a number of spin-offs planned for the future. On Halloween last year, star Curtis Jackson - aka rapper 50 Cent (41p) - has also revealed some details about a new show. In a post on his Instagram, the rapper shared a photo of himself posing on top of a retro police car with the caption: "My Power spin-off is so crazy I'm doing the prequel. Wait till you see this s***.

New episodes of Power will be landing on Netflix every Monday and all five previous seasons are available to watch right now.
