Former Disney Star Bella Thorne Reveals Why She Made A PornHub Movie

Former Disney TV star Bella Thorne has explained why she decided to move into the adult industry to direct a film for PornHub.

After having starred in Shake It Up for the Disney Channel, as well as projects such as HBO's Big Love, she's now branched out and directed a short adult film called Her & Him.

The project, which Thorne admits started out as an idea for a 'Christmas horror movie' tells the story of a boyfriend who finds some stuff on his girlfriend's phone that suggests she wants to kill him.

It stars Abella Danger and Small Hands - neither of those are real names, obviously - and features music from Thorne's sometime-boyfriend Mod Sun.

It's been described by PornHub Vice President Corey Price as "a modernistic, sexually explicit Romeo and Juliet-like depiction of two star-crossed lovers who have an unbridled sexual longing for each other."

As for the move from child-star to porn director, Thorne said: "What inspired me to do the movie was basically thinking about this relationship between a male and a female and this fight over dominance and how this relates to our general world, besides in a sexual scenario."

The whole project is part of PornHub's new Visionary Directors Series, which aims to take some less-familiar faces to the industry in order to bring something different.

Thorne would definitely fit into that category. It's her first solo-directed film, too.

She continued: "The vision behind the story was basically creating these two dynamic characters that could kind of, again, switch off from a dominant and submissive.

"My vision originally was to make a Christmas horror movie. And instead I made a very beautiful, ethereal, neon type of vision. Sometimes you go in thinking that you want something specific and you totally change your mind."

Time to address the elephant in the room, what is it like to film people having sex? That's unusual.

Thorne added: "Well, the process of shooting was quite interesting because we had real-life f***ing on set, which I have never shot before... also this was my first short in general, so it was quite in interesting experience to have the first thing that I really fully directed have so much sex in it... It is quite a fun environment."

She's learned quite a bit from her experience, it would seem. She's got advice for the other directors in the series, too.

"Just jump right in, you're never going to get it done until you literally start it," she said.

Fair enough.

The initial reviews - ahem - seem to be positive. It's been streaming on PornHub Premium and she's been given a PornHub Award for it. Although, how much you can read into that given that it was literally paid for by PornHub isn't clear.
