Game Of Thrones Easter Eggs Are Back

Game Of Thrones Easter Eggs Are Back

Just in time for the final season

As if we weren't excited enough for the final season of Game of Thrones to start, it's been confirmed that we can watch it while chowing down on a golden dragon egg.

Obviously, not a real one - we all know they are extremely hard to come by and probably not that tasty - but the next best thing.

Yes, Morrisons has brought back its hit Easter egg for the second year. The Belgian chocolate treat weighs in at about 240g and is 20cm high, finished off with a dusting of golden and ruby edible paint.

The eggs are the same as Daenerys' wedding gifts.

Being a rare - and delicious - dragon egg, it's not the cheapest and is going to set you back £6, but if you can't treat yourself to celebrate the start of season eight, when can you?

The special chocolate egg looks just like the three petrified dragon eggs that Daenerys was given by Magister Illyrio Mopatis as a wedding gift.

At first they just looked like a trio of fancy ornaments, but the plot thickened when they actually hatched and she suddenly found herself the owner of a fiercely protective set of dragons.

I wouldn't expect all that for £6, but it will make for a decent Easter present for the GoT fan in your life - or just to you, from you.

The eggs, which are part of the store's 'The Best' range, are available at stores across the UK.

We've waited for nearly two years for the final series to start, with HBO confirming the first episode of season 8 will air in the US at 9pm (Eastern time) on 14 April, and at 2am on 15 April in the UK.

The eighth season will be the shortest one of them all with only six episodes, but we will be treated to some extra extended ones as we get towards the final few - the last three will all be about 80 minutes long. That's loads of time for bloodshed and carnage.

Makers of the show have teased a few short trailers over the last few weeks, and to be honest, it's only thrown up more questions, with Game of Thrones fans scrutinising every bit of footage they see for answers.

In one fleeting shot of the video of the 'Together' trailer - released last week, Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen are seen standing in front of a fire.

One eagle-eyed fan commented that the fireplace bears some striking similarities to the fireplace at Dragonstone - potentially alluding to the fact that Dany and Jon survive whatever is going to happen up at Winterfell.

It's a matter of time before we find out, but if you want to join the conversation, head over to Game Of Thrones: Westeros Posting on Facebook and offer up your theory.
