After a long and gruelling voting process by LADbible, the
results are in and (unlike some other votes that have been cast in recent
memory) the voting public have managed to decide upon a strong and stable
winner that works for everyone.
The votes have been counted, the masses have spoken, 2017's best TV show has been chosen.
Nearly 15,000 (14.7k to be exact) votes were cast, and apparently the vast majority of voters are incest-loving, murder junkies (words I never expected to write).

Yup, with nearly twice as many votes as anything else, George R.R. Martin and HBO's medieval fuck-fest Game Of Thrones is the people's champion.
The HBO series returned earlier in the year for its second-to-last season and things are really starting to pick up now that they've finally done away with following the books.
G.o.T picked up a whopping 29 percent of the vote, with wacky underwater comedy-drama Blue Planet II (this is a joke) coming a distant second with 15%.

In epic fantasy Game of Thrones, we now know who Jon Snow's real dad is - although who hadn't already figured that one out? - as well as the fact he's Daenerys Targaryen's nephew (gross - given what then happens) and one of the dragons has become some sort of ice-shooting zombie dragon (yet more words I never thought I'd write).

Season 8 has already started filming in Northern Ireland, Croatia, and Iceland, and whilst we haven't got a release date for it, it will probably be out towards the end of next year or at the start of 2019.
We don't know what will happen - although the internet thinks it has an idea or two (BEWARE: The link is dark and full of spoilers) but we'll surely be tuning in to find out.
Anyway, back to the voting.

One of the biggest surprises (given how much people go on about it) was that Stranger Things II only picked up 13% of the votes, and Master Of None picked up a staggering 0% (that's ZERO percent) of the vote.
It was joined on bugger all by The Handmaid's Tale - which is great, by the way. Come at us with any shows we've missed from the list. P.S. - What a year for TV.
