Gargoyles Has Been Confirmed To Return On Disney+

Gargoyles Has Been Confirmed To Return On Disney+

The much beloved cartoon Gargoyles was a big hit in the 1990s. It hasn't seen the light of day since then, which is understandable when all this other fresh content has been pumped out.

However, if you were a massive fan of the show then you'll be pleased to know it is being included on the Disney streaming service.

The show focuses on a species of nocturnal creatures known as gargoyles, led by Goliath, that turn to stone during the day. In the year 994, the clan live in a castle in Scotland before they are betrayed and many are killed by humans. The remaining ones are frozen in stone form until the castle 'rises above the clouds'.

A thousand years later, billionaire David Xanatos purchases the gargoyles' castle and has it reconstructed atop his New York skyscraper, the Eyrie Building, thus awakening Goliath and the remainder of his clan.

One of the voices of the show, Keith David, spoke to ComicBook.com about the prospect of the show one day being streamed on a platform.

"You know, those of us who were involved from the beginning... I've always wondered why they stopped it in the first place," David said.

"[We've wondered] why we haven't come back to a reboot. I mean, I would love nothing more than to revisit Goliath. You know, he was absolutely one of my very, very, very, very favourite characters.

"I've always maintained that when I grow up, I want to be like Goliath."

Viewers will be able to lap up all 78 episodes and three seasons when Disney+ debuts in early November.
