Just a quick word of warning if you haven't seen Avengers: Infinity War yet, there are spoilers below.

Seriously, if you haven't seen the film yet and plan on seeing it then it's probably time to click away now.

OK, now that's out the way, get ready to cry, because director James Gunn has revealed Groot's last words and it's pretty bloody heart-breaking.

Poor Groot was one of the many to get wiped out by Thanos after he collected the six Infinity Stones. As he began to fade, he uttered, 'I am Groot' and we were all left wondering what he had been trying to tell Rocket.

Taking to Twitter, one fan asked: "Might be too soon to ask this, but do you know what Groot's last line is at the end of the movie?"

To which Gunn replied: "Spoiler...Dad".

Wow, is someone chopping onions. Fans were hit right in the feels by the revelation:

We'll have to wait until the 3 May 2019 to find out what happens.

As yet, the title hasn't been released because, according to Joe Russo, they want audiences to focus on this movie, rather than worrying ahead about what's coming next. But we're already worried, pal.

Taking part in a Q&A at his old school last week, Russo hinted at Doctor Strange handing over the Time Stone to Thanos as part of a bigger plan.

According to The Little Hawk Student newspaper, Joe told the students: "I'm not going to say what he did but Doctor Strange...closure is given to Doctor Strange....but Doctor Strange - what did he say in the film?"

To which the students replied: "This is the only way."

Joe then asked: "What did he do before that? He saw 14 Million futures, potential futures. So maybe Doctor Strange knows something."

I should bloody well hope so.
