Guy Ritchie made some of British cinema's best gangster films, before he switched things up and started working on glossier Hollywood movies like The Man from U.N.C.L.E.
Now, I'm not slating his newer films, I loved his Sherlock Holmes' reboots as much as the next cinema-goer, however, I have to admit I'm pretty excited to learn that the director is going back to roots and is currently working on a new British gangster flick.

According to Deadline, Toff Guys will be unveiled at the Cannes market next week, where it will be offered to foreign and domestic buyers by CAA Media Finance and Rocket Science, and will see Ritchie going back to what he does best.
The movie is described by insiders as a cross between Sexy Beast and Downton Abbey, which is as about as odd a combination as I can think of. It reportedly follows a 'very English' drug lord attempting to cash out on his empire by flogging it to a bunch of billionaires from Oklahoma. Sounds great, to be fair.
Insiders have told Deadline it's 'about old money, new money, and show me the money'.
As well as directing, Ritchie also wrote the script alongside Marn Davies and Ivan Atkinson.
When speaking to LADbible last year, Ritchie was quizzed about a return to East-End gangster films. He didn't confirm any plans for a new movie, but he did mention a TV show.
"I think there's going to be a TV series," he told LADbible. "Which I'm quite excited about." He also revealed that he had a script all ready and waiting.

His previous films helped to launch movie careers for a number of stars, including Jason Statham, Jason Flemyng and of course Vinnie Jones.
LADbible asked Ritchie if Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels' star and footy legend Vinnie Jones was as scary in real-life.
"He can be," said the filmmaker. But then, surprisingly, he added: "He could be the most generous man I've ever met. He could be the kindest man I've ever met." Fair enough.

His next cinematic offering is a live-action version of Aladdin, which I'm sort of struggling to get my head around, to be honest, but let's keep an open-mind eh?
