It's fair to say Guy Ritchie isn't particularly predictable in his directorial film picks - under his belt he has Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch, as well as The Man from U.N.C.L.E and Swept Away - he's also billed to be behind the upcoming live-action remake of Aladdin.
However, if there's one thing we know Ritchie does well it's that he makes a bloody good gangster film - so it's only right to get excited that he's announced his new project, Toff Guys, especially as it's already promising an awesome cast.

Not only is the British gangster movie set to feature Matthew McConaughey and Kate Beckinsale, surprisingly it also boasts British bumble core actor Hugh Grant. Mind you, no word yet on whether or not we can expect an appearance from Vinnie Jones, who's always popping up in Ritchie's films.
Grant should have a fun time taking on his role - he's playing a British gossip journalist famous for his 'reputation of going into people's lives and undoing them', which might just be a storyline Grant can relate to, given his prior scandals that were played out in the media.
The company behind the upcoming project has described Toff Guys as a 'cross between Sexy Beast and Downton Abbey', so we can see where the name fits in now.

It follows the story of an English drug lord attempting to cash out on his 'highly profitable empire by selling it off to a dynasty of Oklahoma billionaires'.
When speaking to LADbible last year, Ritchie was quizzed about a return to East-End gangster films. He didn't confirm any plans for a new movie - at the time he mentioned a TV show, but now we know it was all just a diversion for the star's upcoming production.
Ritchie's most recent cinematic venture will see him at the helm of Disney's live-action remake of Aladdin - basically a case and point that he's not a predictable man when it comes to what movie he's getting behind next.

He also confirmed, back in May, that Sherlock Holmes 3 would be hitting our screens in 2020, which came as mega news for fans of the franchise as it's been seven whole years since we last saw Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr team up and become the detective duo of Sherlock Holmes and Dr John Watson.
It seems the next couple of years are going to be pretty exciting, if not varied, for Ritchie - and all his fans.
