Hammond And May Return To The BBC In The Most Awkward Interview Ever

Viewers have blasted The One Show after it conducted the "most awkward interview ever" last night with James May and Richard Hammond.

Incredibly, both Alex Jones and co-presenter Angellica Bell managed to lead the whole episode of the show without mentioning 'Top Gear' or 'Jeremy Clarkson' once. Credit where it's due, that must have been a challenge.

Take a look for yourself.

Hammond and May appeared on the BBC show in order to promote The Grand Tour, which they star in alongside Jeremy Clarkson, who was fired from the corporation, and that made things somewhat tricky.

Still, after everything, the Beeb allowed them to promote what is set to be the 'slightly better Top Gear' nonetheless.

Here's what we have to look forward to. The Grand Tour will air in just a few days on Amazon Prime and we can't wait.

The tone in the interview was set when Jones and Bell called the stars 'middle-aged men' (first mistake) and then asked them how much money they had stashed away when linking into a segment about pensions.

Jones then deliberately made the plug to their new Amazon Prime show as subtle as possible. She said: "Your new show is apparently, very, very different to the show you used to be on, let's see."

Clarkson was absent but he took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the matter.

From seeing how the rest of Twitter reacted, it doesn't look like the BBC did itself any favours with this stunt.
