The new Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge has opened at Disneyland in Florida, and guess who made surprise appearances at its launch? Only Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Brie Larson.

Other Star Wars legends and fans gathered to see a sneak preview of the incredible new ride, including Disney CEO Bob Iger and Star Wars creator George Lucas. Actors Billy Dee Williams, who plays Lando Calrissian and Mark Hamill, who plays Luke Skywalker also showed up.

They were giving a presentation about the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run ride which had 'broken down' when Iger asked if there was anyone there 'who knows how to fix this thing' - while an actor played Chewbacca inside.

Harrison stepped up to the job, and while he was under the cockpit, he pointed to the audience, saying 'this one's for you Peter'.

Of course, he was referring to Peter Mayhew - the original Chewbacca actor, who sadly passed away earlier this month.

Harrison, obviously knew exactly what he was doing and managed to 'fix' the ship, with a fireworks going off to celebrate.

The new ride was scheduled to open on 31 May.

Although Larson isn't part of Star Wars, she was the star of Captain Marvel, which is distributed by Disney - and she stopped by to show her support, posing with Iger for photos.

Iger then officially opened the ride, two days ahead of its scheduled launch on 31 May.

The 'immersive' experience features an actual cantina, similar to the Mos Eisley Cantina featured in the 1977 original Star Wars film.

The legendary George Lucas stepped up to say a few words during the event, which was live streamed on Disney's YouTube.

Lucas said: "I'm sure many of you fantasised. I always wanted to sidle up to the bar at the cantina. Now we can do all of that, and so much more.

"Now the technology is here, this thing is amazing," Lucas continued. "It's something you couldn't even dream about 20 years ago. It was a great experience. for me, and it will change your life."

Fans seem pretty excited about the new ride, taking to Twitter to give their opinions.

One impressed fan said: "This is going to be SO COOL. We gotta take our future kids."

A second person wrote: "Time to book a trip to Disneyland."
