HBO Drops Pictures From Game Of Thrones Season 8 And People Are Excited

There are a few hidden messages behind some of the photos.

People were hoping they were going to get a sneak peak at the final season of arguably the biggest TV show in history when the Super Bowl played on Sunday night.

While they didn't exactly get what they wanted, they have been treated to a different type of teaser for Game of Thrones.

It might not be the trailer we've all been demanding but it's a bunch of stills of our favourite (still living) characters.

HBO has been kind enough to show us what Jon, Danny, Tyrion, Sam, Sansa, Arya and several others look like in the lead up to the ultimate showdown.

The first we see is Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) staring at each other kind of lovingly.

The look they give each other is sickening.
HBO

If you're uninformed, this is a pretty sick love twist considering the end of season seven revealed that Danny is Jon's aunt. Yeah - we told you it was sick.

HBO's caption of the dragon plus the wolf foreshadows how these two have obviously decided to come together and join as one to fight off the Night King and his walkers.

Tyrion Lannister is up next, played by Peter Dinklage, and he's looking as concerned as ever.

Why so concerned Tyrion.
HBO

He's got a lovely Hand of the Queen badge on his top, but while he's pledged his allegiance to Danny, fans aren't so sure where his loyalty lies.

One person wrote: "This will be the greatest betrayal Westeros has ever seen. You heard it here first."

Looks like we'll just have to wait and see.

An interesting insight into these pictures sits with Jamie Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau).

Kingslayer or King Jamie?
HBO

While nothing looks out of the ordinary with the Kingslayer, eagle eyed fans have noticed that he's wearing Stark armour, showing how embedded he is with the Northerners.

Jamie led the charge against the Tyrells and nearly killed Daenerys during a battle with the Dothraki last season. But when meeting to discuss a parlay was organised between Cersei, Danny and Jon, Jamie ditched his sister in favour of protecting the Wall.

Interesting times.

The picture of Cersei alludes to this betrayal from Jamie as it shows her completely alone in King's Landing.

All alone in her castle.
HBO

While she might have secured the Iron Throne and is technically Queen of the Seven Kingdoms, she doesn't have the loyalty or valour that belongs to people like Jon, Sansa, or Danny.

Maybe this realisation will make her join forces with that lot in the fight against the Walkers.

But Cersei might not even get that chance if Arya has anything to do with it.

She's grown into a fine, young warrior.
HBO

The young Stark woman has been on the hunt for her head ever since her dad, Ned's, was chopped off in front of her in season one.

Arya has grown into a powerful young woman, capable of killing anyone she comes across (who wouldn't want to see a showdown between her and The Mountain).

While the picture doesn't give much away, people are still pretty stoked to see her.

Game of Thrones premieres in the UK on April 14 at 2am.
