Here’s How The Rock Responded After Being Ranked Highest Paid Actor In The World

After the famous feud with co-star Vin Diesel - AKA 'Candy Ass' - Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson can take a moment to reflect on his impressive career after he recently landed the top spot of Forbes' annual ranking of the highest paid actors in the world.

Johnson earned $64.5 million between June 2015 and June 2016, meaning that he is this year's biggest gainer, more than doubling his earnings from the previous year.

In a tweet following the news, Johnson mentioned that he started with just $7 and that if he can make it, he believes anyone can. He also suggests that dinner is on him. No matter how he celebrates, it's clear from his recent tweets that the success hasn't gone to his head.

The retired wrestler's fortune from this year came from upfront fees for movies, including Central Intelligence and Fast 8, as well as the forthcoming Baywatch in which he's set to play Mitch Buchannon.

Johnson's achievement was hinted back in July when Forbes released its separate 'highest-paid celebrities' list. "Greatness is never achieved alone," Johnson said at the time. "Surround yourself with hungry, brilliant individuals who not only buy into your philosophy, but who are all willing to work just as hard as you."
