Viewers tuning in to this year's I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! are reacting angrily to The Chase host Anne Hegerty being voted to do tonight's gruelling Bushtucker Trial, with some saying she is being singled out.

Anne, who has spoken openly about being diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome as an adult, was forced to do tonight's Hellish Hospitals challenge, where she managed to win seven stars out of a possible 11.

She's also had to knock back all manner of gross stuff in a live challenge over the weekend, after which she admitted: "I kind of did surprise myself, I was nauseated by the eating trials and still am."

Vewers flocked to Twitter to blast those who were voting for her, with one saying: "Who voted for Anne? I hope you have a terrible night's sleep."

Another posted: "Would love Anne to just not do the trial to stick two fingers up to the voters wanting to see her suffer."

While a third wrote: "Yes, she says 'get me out of here' but unlike previously with celebs just saying it because they're a lil' scared, Anne says it because she goes into sensory overload so it's safer for her to remove herself instead of finishing but y'know act like she's selfish."

Anne has previously been ruled out of some trials following doctor's advice.

Fellow Chaser Mark Labette appeared on Good Morning Britain to talk about his pal, and heaped praise on her for how she handled the trials.

"She hasn't got a game plan here," he told Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid. "She's the ultimate organiser.

"She's the godmother to my son, she's already got his birthday and Christmas presents and handed them on.

"But she reacts terribly to the unexpected, that's just one of the things autistic and Asperger's people do.

"That's why the first trial, she wasn't expecting it and it threw her. But the Bushtucker Trial, where she knew she had to do it, she prepared herself and absolutely bossed it."

He went on to explain that her being ruled out of trials was nothing to do with her having Asperger's.

Adding: "The rigorous checks they go through are incredible. They don't leave any stone unturned. They can't take any risks.

"If they say she can't do a trial for medical reasons, it has got nothing to do with her Asperger's or autism."

I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! continues tomorrow on ITV at 9pm.
