Is This The Next James Bond?

Is This The Next James Bond?

Bookies seem to think so.

Ever since Daniel Craig revealed that slitting his wrists was more appealing to him than doing another Bond film, speculation has been rife about who will replace him.

For a while, Idris Elba was tipped as the next, and first ever black, James Bond. However, rumours of that coming to fruition have seemingly fizzled out.

Tom Hardy was also a favourite to take on the role of MI6's most famous agent, after his meteoric rise in the film industry.

Alas, it doesn't look as if Hardy, who won best actor at the British Independent Film Awards for his portrayal of Ronnie and Reggie Kray, will play Bond either.

Another favourite to play 007 after an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, and after he was spotted with Bond movie director Sam Mendes and the film's producer Barbara Broccoli, is Tom Hiddleston.

In last 24 hours huge amounts of bets were placed on Hiddleston, making him 2-1 favourite.

His odds fell dramatically to 1-2, and then bets were completely suspended by Coral.

Nicola McGeady, a spokeswoman for Coral, said: "There is no smoke without fire, and following the big gamble on Tom Hiddleston in the last 24 hours, we've had no choice but to pull the plug on the market. Earlier in the year there was a gamble on Idris Elba and Damian Lewis, but nothing has come close to the recent gamble on Hiddleston."

Hiddleston denied reports that he had taken the job, but doesn't sound exactly like something James Bond would say?
