Inbetweeners Star James Buckley Says He 'Wouldn't Go Anywhere Near Reunion'

We are sorry to inform The Inbetweeners fans that one of the show's stars has said he doesn't want to return to the series.

James Buckley has moved on since his time as everyone's favourite compulsive liar, Jay, in the hit E4 series, but he has now come out and said it wouldn't be right to make another series as it just wouldn't be 'good enough'.

The revelation comes just a few months after the fwends' 10th anniversary special which did not go down well with fans of the show.

Speaking to Heart Radio, the actor said they don't have any plans for another return, be it a series or one-off special.

He said: "At the moment I wouldn't want to go anywhere near it. I'm not sure we would be able to do it good enough.

"It's difficult to come up with reasons why we shouldn't do anymore, we all love each other we all get on really well. It's the best job in the world. We get paid really well to do it.

"All we do is turn up and make each other laugh all day long and they sort of make a TV show around us.

"We are all so stubborn. It was maybe a mistake doing that reunion.

"We've always gone 'let's just leave it'. A lot of people might have argued that we should have left it after the first film."

Referring back to the reunion special, he added: "I think especially after the reunion, me personally I don't want to ruin The Inbetweeners any more."

When the reunion show was aired on New Year's Day, fans of the cult comedy said they were looking forward to seeing the gang back together, but were ultimately left disappointed.

One viewer wrote: "The Inbetweeners reunion was toe-curling... The biggest disappointment of 2019 has already happened, Inbetweeners FwendsReunited, what is this shit ffs."

Another added: "Format of this show is fucking awful. Get rid of Jimmy Carr, get rid of the pointless awards and lets just have the cast anecdotes #fwendsreunited."

A third fan also commented, saying : "I was so psyched for the #inbetweenersreunion but it's turned out to be absolutely shite."
