Jared Leto Sent Some Seriously Disturbing Gifts To His 'Suicide Squad' Co-Stars

Ever since filming began for the highly-anticipated Suicide Squad, many of the film's stars have revealed some of the seriously weird things Jared Leto got up to behind the scenes.

Harley Quinn actress, Margot Robbie, was sent a live black rat by the 44-year-old actor, which she ultimately ended up keeping.

Will Smith, who plays Deadshot, also claimed he'd never officially been introduced to Leto because his co-star had been in character as The Joker ever since they met.

The latest admission from the actor portraying one of cinema's most sinister characters may well be the darkest yet.

In an interview with E!, Leto admitted to sending used condoms and anal beads to the rest of the Suicide Squad. Oh, and sticky Playboy magazines. And a dead pig.

"I did a lot of things to create a dynamic to create an element of surprise, a spontaneity and to really break down any kind of walls that may be there," he admitted on the red carpet at CinemaCon. "The Joker is somebody who doesn't really respect things like personal space or boundaries."

His co-stars also had their say on Leto's method acting and dedication to immersing himself in the character.

"He went full Joker," Will Smith told E! "He really set the tone. He wasn't playing with it. He was dead serious as an actor. He was going in and he was 100 percent going into this character."

Leto may have awfully big clown shoes to fill after Heath Ledger's Oscar-winning performance in The Dark Knight, but all the signs are suggesting we could be in for one hell of a film.

Suicide Squad hits UK cinemas on August 5.
