Jeremy Clarkson Gets Answer Wrong On 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire'

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? is back with new host Jeremy Clarkson at the helm, taking over from Chris Tarrant - and doing a much better job, in my opinion. He's ideal for the role, because he comes across as a bit of a know it all, except he doesn't always actually know it all - as last night's show proved:
The reboot of the show has a new lifeline: Ask the Host, where contestants can, well, ask the host. Alan Horsburgh from Kirkcaldy in Scotland was on last night was asked: What type of wild animal is an ibex? for £16,000.
His choices were goat, pig, hare or deer. While Alan was having a little think, Clarkson piped up: "I'm going to really annoy you now. I know the answer." A big tease really, because poor Alan had already used up his Ask the Host lifeline earlier on.
Instead, he phoned a friend and eventually opted for 'deer'. As the answer was locked in, Clarkson said: "I'm not even going to look at the screen. That's the correct answer."
But, actually, mate, it wasn't. The correct answer, 'goat' turned green while Clarkson told a pretty gutted Alan, "You've just lost £15,000."
That poor man will never, ever forget what an ibex is for as long as he lives.
Viewers took to Twitter to take the piss:
Best thing i've seen on TV this year, just amazingly awkward :see_no_evil: #ohdeer

Oh deer! :joy:. @JeremyClarkson told the contestant he wasn't even going to look at the screen because he knew it was the right answer and it was wrong. The contestant's face was a picture! #awkward #millionaire

Fans also heaped praise on the new host, saying he was the 'best thing on TV' and 'hilarious' so who cares if he doesn't know his deer from his goat, eh? Keep up the good work.
