Jim Parsons From 'The Big Bang Theory' Just Ruined Kaley Cuoco's Birthday

Jim Parsons From 'The Big Bang Theory' Just Ruined Kaley Cuoco's Birthday

It's the most Sheldon thing he could have done and she wasn't impressed

Birthdays are rubbish, aren't they? Another year marked off the calendar in what is really just passing the time on the slow march to death.

Sure, it's an opportunity to go out with all your friends, get lots of free drinks, and forget about your fragile mortality, and then there's the presents and, of course, the cake.

Okay, so maybe they aren't too bad but you get my point, no one likes getting older and no one likes forced, organised fun.

So what if someone took away one of the few things that make birthdays bearable? They would surely be the lowest of the low, the kind of person any self-respecting human being wouldn't want to associate themselves with.

And in this case you would almost be right, because that is exactly what Sheldon from hit-comedy The Big Bang Theory did - who wants to hang out with him?

Well, it's Sheldon who ruined it but it was Jim Parsons, who plays the show's overly-anxious geek, which is basically the same thing. His actions were actually pretty much something straight off a Big Bang script, with Sheldon always missing social cues and putting his foot in it.

Yesterday, his co-star, Kaley Cuoco, who plays the would-be actress Penny, celebrated her 33rd day of birth, and along with the stream of well-wishing she would have received from family, friends, and fans, her colleagues on the show were even planning to surprise her with a giant pink cake.

Of course you're thinking that sounds nice, everyone loves cake, you just said it was one of the few things that make birthdays passable, what's the problem?

Well, Jim Parsons is the problem and went full Sheldon as he decided to post a picture of the cake on his Instagram account, tagging his co-star in it.

Still, that's fairly nice, he just wants to share the moment with the rest of the show's fans.

But posted with the caption, 'almost time, @kaleycuoco ... shhhhh ...' he clearly knew what he was doing.

Needless to say, the birthday girl was less than impressed and responded by posting a photo of herself on Jim's account, looking glum with a phone in her hand showing the pic of her 'surprise' cake, you know, the one she didn't know existed.

With the caption, 'oops'.

Birthday officially ruined, with the only silver lining that he didn't eat the cake, so that's something, I guess.

Happy belated birthday, Kaley. And so the slow march goes on.
