Going into Game of Thrones' sixth season, there was only one question on everybody's lips: Does Jon Snow live or die?

Of course, if you were well versed in the goings on in Westeros, you'd have been able to come up with multiple theories as to how Jon Snow was going to return. Or you could have just pointed to the fact that Kit Harington was seen several times filming on set.

Yes, it might have been throwback scenes and yes, it could have just been for show, but as tonight's episode of Game of Thrones, called 'Home', confirmed... Jon Snow lives.

Since the final episode of season five, when the Lord Commander of the Night's Watch was so brutally murdered by that little dickhead Olly (and others), the general public has looked for any last clue as to whether Jon Snow would live or not.

Actor Harington was asked time after time after time about it and simply shrugged his shoulders and said it's all over.

After nearly 12 months of lying through his teeth for the sake of marketing season six, Harington has finally issued an apology to his fans.

He said: "I'm glad that people were upset that he died. I think my biggest fear was that people were not going to care. Or it would just be, 'Fine, Jon Snow's dead.' But it seems like people had a, similar to the Red Wedding episode, kind of grief about it."

You're fucking telling me, Kit! Questioning whether we cared or not. Honestly, these actors are so sheltered these days.

The episode also launched Game of Thrones season six after what many thought was a disappointing opening episode.

Aside from the highly religious imagery surrounding Snow's resurrection thanks to the Lady Melisandre, there was also the huge Roose Bolton murder at the hands of his son Ramsay and the re-appearance of Bran Stark north of The Wall.

Oh, and that moment with Tyrion and Daenarys' dragons? What the fuck was that?! Is he a secret Targaryen or something now and that's why his father Tywin hated him so much? I'm onto something here.

The Game of Thrones TV series overtaking the books might be the best thing that's ever happened to the show if tonight's episode was anything to go by.

Until next week...
