Ryan Reynolds Responds To Kanye West's Comments About Music In 'Deadpool' Movies

Could a Deadpool/Kanye collab be on the cards?

Deadpool 2 has achieved some amazing things since it was released almost a month ago.

Back in May, it achieved the second largest opening ever for an R-rated movie - sitting behind only the first Deadpool flick - and has received pretty positive reviews from the critics and fans alike.

Even better than that, apparently the exploits of the 'Merc with a Mouth' have impressed the great one, visionary voice of a generation Kanye West.

West posted his support for Ryan Reynolds and the whole Deadpool franchise. He said: "I love both Deadpool movies...I heard tracks in it that sound similar to mine...bro I would have cleared my music for Deadpool ..."

In another tweet, he added: "your guys writing and approach is so innovative ... I love how you guys break the 4th wall... thank you for being innovative and please know I'm down to clear next time"

High praise indeed. Of course, being the lovable internet scallywag that he is, Ryan Reynolds couldn't resist offering his tongue-in-cheek response to the whole saga.

He said: "Agree. I'm having a word with Céline Dion."

This is, of course, a reference to the original song "Ashes" that Dion contributed to the movie, including a stunning dance routine from DP himself in the video.

Of course, it's nice to be liked, but it doesn't seem like the Deadpool sequel needs help to be a success, even from someone as 'impactful' as Kanye.

Since being released, it has taken more than $657m at the box office.

However, are we being set up for a Kanye/Céline/Reynolds collaboration on the next Deadpool film? Probably not. Not least because it seems unlikely that there will be another standalone Deadpool film.

In a recent interview, Reynolds said that the next step in the saga is likely to be an X-Force movie. Any such movie would probably heavily feature Deadpool without being an out-and-out Deadpool film.

"For Deadpool 3, you know, it's an odd thing to say but I don't think there will be a Deadpool 3," he said. "I think going forward it would be an X-Force movie, which would be his team so to speak."

He clarified this position in another interview with Variety in which he added: "Well, there is talk about an X-Force film which isn't really a Deadpool film - but it's sort of a group effort. But, for Deadpool 3, we'll see.

"I don't know. At this point, I don't even want to think about it. Down the road, I'm sure we will figure it out."

Hey, if Kanye and Céline are on board, it's got to be worth having a long think about.
