Netflix is great. We can all agree on that. Sometimes there is actually too much choice and that can make it difficult to choose what to watch and - heaven forfend - cause arguments between friends, lovers, and family.
That being said, despite the huge amount of choice on there, there are a few glaring omissions from the world's most popular streaming platform. One is definitely Game of Thrones.
It's probably the biggest TV show on the planet right now, and they can pretty much get away with anything that they want, but shouldn't the two giants just come around the table and create something that works for everyone?
Well, enough people on the internet think so, for sure. Loads of folks have been online lamenting the fact that they can't get their fix of dragons, death, and incest.
Obviously, this is most likely down to the fact that HBO, who make Game of Thrones, has large and pretty lucrative contracts with Sky Atlantic in the UK, and others around the world. They also don't want to do a deal with Netflix, it is thought.
Basically, HBO see Netflix as a direct rival in the world of premium entertainment and have maintained that they won't share any shows with them from the early days.
Bad luck, GoT fans - it's probably never going to happen. For a bit, they did have some of their stuff on Amazon Prime, but that contract is now up and they are no longer available.
It's not just bad news for fans of medieval incest drama. HBO also make several of the best TV shows of all time, which will not be available on Netflix either. The Wire, The Sopranos, and Band of Brothers are all off the table too.
If you want to see Game of Thrones legally in the UK, your best bet is to get Sky Box Sets or set a reminder for the series. They'll surely be re-running everything to death in the lead up to the next - and final - season.
