​Man Dumped After Giving Girlfriend £5k Cheque For Boob Job For Her Birthday

A man from Sydney has revealed that he was dumped by his girlfriend after treating her to a £5,000 cheque for a boob job. For her birthday. Yeah, we know.

Erik, 32, was unsurprisingly given the boot by girlfriend Lauren, before eventually deciding to take part in new Aussie reality show Back With The Ex in a bid to win her back with a romantic getaway in New York.

In a preview for the Channel Seven show, Lauren explains that Erik broke up with her via text after they'd been together for six years, while Erik admits that breaking up with her was the 'biggest regret' in his life.

In one clip, she also accuses him of 'controlling' behaviour in the past, and even pulls out the offending cheque for the breast enlargement along with a plastic surgery brochure.

Speaking to News Corp, Lauren opened up about his, erm, bold gift.

"One year, he gave me a birthday card with a cheque for AUD 10,000 (£5,500/$7,800) and in the envelope there was a breast augmentation brochure," she said.

This is apparently Erik's seventh shot at winning Lauren back, having dumped her a grand total of six times. How he's managed that is an absolute mystery to us all.

"I loved Erik so much for so long. I would like to think he's matured," Lauren said.

Speaking on a local radio show on KIISFM, Erik tried to defend himself by saying that at the time he believed the gift was 'nice'.

"It was a 'choose your own adventure birthday'," he said, adding: "I think she fixated on that negative side of things."

He also admitted that he and Lauren had never actually had a serious discussion about plastic surgery during the course of their relationship - which means poor Lauren must've been more than just a little bit shocked to receive the controversial cheque.

KIISFM presenter Jackie O simply looked at him pointedly, saying that anyone who received such a loaded gift would be insulted with the offer.

Admitting in the show's preview that dumping Lauren was his biggest regret, he also revealed to the radio show that he often dreams about his ex.

"You don't realise what you have until you let it slip through your fingers," he said.

Jackie O also asked the question on everyone's lips: "Did she ever get the boobs done?"

Erik replies: "No."
