There were many things to happen in the finale of Game of Thrones season seven.

So much so that you undoubtedly missed a few, which has left you itching to re-watch the episode and take it all in again.

There was a small cameo in it, for example, which doesn't bring too many spoilers so we reckon it's okay to tell you.

The American heavy metal band Mastodon actually appeared as wights. Brann Dailor, Bill Kelliher, and Brent Hinds pretty much made Game of Thrones and Mastodon fan's nights, as a brief but admirable scene featured them.

In other news the band announced a new EP called Cold Dark Place. Fans will lick their lips at the prospect of four previously never heard before tracks from old recording sessions, Pitchfork reports.

It's not the band's first cameo in GoT either, as they appeared as wildlings in season five, as well as writing the song 'White Walker' for the Catch the Throne: Volume II mixtape, commissioned by HBO.

Much better, and much more subtle of course, than Ed Sheeran's woeful cameo earlier in the season.

Did you spot it first time round?
